DIY- HOW TO DO a girl´s Circular skirt
Hi, have a happy day!!!!
Today we´re doing a child´s circular skirt…
We may use plane fabric or stretch/elastic fabric.
We don´t use seam discount or easy seam if we use stretch/elastic fabric.
If
we use plane fabric we use a “light”(not heavy) fabric so it falls fine.
We use Italian measurements in cms.
Measurements needed with stretch fabric:
WAIST CIRCUMFERENCE: is the measurement we
take exactly, not easy not tight, around the waist.
HIP
CIRCUMFERENCE: is the measurement we take exactly, not easy not
tight, around the HIP.
LONG/LENGTH DESIRED: is the measurement we take from waistline to where we want the skirt plus the hem.
HEMS: it´s 1 cm for the waistband and 4 cm for the skirt hem.
WAISTBAND: we use 1 cm for the seam in each border. This skirt needs a plane-band of 1 or 2 cm wide and the waistband long is the same waist circumference measurement plus 4 cm to cross and 8 cm in high that we fold in half, so we have 4 cm in high.
The band may be fliselina (the lightest one), we use this so the waistband doesn´t stretchs with the use.
,
may be fliselina (the lightest one), we use this so the waistband doesn´t
stretchs with the use. The band may be fliselina (the lightest one), we use this so the waistband doesn´t stretchs with the use.
We draw an horizontal line with
1/6 waist circumference PLUS the skirt long we want PLUS hem.
We draw a vertical line with
1/6 waist circumference PLUS the skirt long we want PLUS hem.
From the superior left
corner of the square, we draw in both lines, horizontal and vertical, 1/6 waist circumference and join with a soft
curve which is the waist (see the draw)
From these marks (the waist) we draw the long
skirt wanted plus hem, in the horizontal and vertical lines and we draw several
times to make the curve. (see draw)
Well,
we finished the round/circular skirt with stretch fabric. With plane fabric we add 2 cm in waistband for easy seam, only.
Now you
may practice….
