DIY - HOW TO DO a BASIC SKIRT PATTERN for girls.
Hi, have a happy day!!!!
Today we´ll do a girl´s basic skirt pattern…
We use ruler, colour markers, pencil, scissors, measure tape, paper....
We use:
·
Plane fabric or knit fabric (with
elastano, lycra).
·
Italian
measurements in cms.
·
Side
seam (in the waistband too) with plane fabric.
Measurements needed:
WAIST CIRCUMFERENCE: is the measurement we
take exactly, not easy not tight, around the waist.
HIP
CIRCUMFERENCE: is the measurement we take exactly, not easy not
tight, around the HIP.
LONG
DESIRED/SKIRT LENGHT: is the measurement we take to where we want the skirt
plus the hem.
HEMS: it’s 1 cm for the
waistband and 4 cm for the skirt hem.
WAISTBAND: is the same waist circumference measurement plus 4 cm to cross and 8 cm in high that we fold in half, so we have 4 cm in high. We use 1 cm for the seam.
SIDE
SEAM: we add 1 to 2 cms. In the waistband too.
FRONT PATERN
We start doing a rectangle with ¼ hip circumference in the horizontals and the long skirt we want in the verticals.
Example: hip circumference:100cm, divided 4 is 25cm, we put these 25cm in upper and down horizontals.
The long skirt wanted plus 4cm for hem and 1 cm for waist go in the verticals.
In the upper horizontal line, from left to right, we mark the waist circumference plus 2cm this is for the tweezers (red line).
From the upper horizontal line and in the vertical left line we mark down 1 cm and join with the upper horizontal line at right (red line)
We mark down the hip line (horizontal blue line) and join it with the diagonal blue line that joins with the waistline (red line) this is the hip area.
In the waist line we look for the middle, we mark a dot. We mark 1 cm (child) in each side from the dot. In the dot we mark down 4 cm and join with the side marks making the tweezers (red colour).
